Year 10 photography students have worked hard to complete their first project. They have been redesigning Melton Road, inspired by their recent trip to Birmingham City Centre. Their use of Photoshop has been tested as they combine images of Melton Road, Grafitti and Birmingham into one complete piece. The collective pieces can be seen in A110 while the individual work can be found here: http://rmsphotographygcse.weebly.com/gcse-portfolios.html

GCSE ART SHOWThank you for all those who came to see the Year 11 show.
The work looked spectacular in the E Block Gallery. A huge thank you to Mr Marwood and Miss Woolridge for pulling it together. Miss Smith's year 7s were very impressed with the exciting work on display and we hope it inspired them in their work in future. |

"The execution of creativity is unknowingly the best part of school, allowing our enhancing brains to do handstands and back flips... even if we get paint in our nails and glue in our hair." - D. Meggi 2015 |

Thank you to all the departments, parents and especially the students for their engagement with the Birmingham Art Scene. We were able to visit three Galleries and walk the whole of Birmingham's Pedestrianised centre.
The students were great and seemed to get a lot out of the trip - especially the Grafitti which was stunning in it's detail and colour! Visiting the Birmingham Museum of Art and Design enabled the students to see a Picasso in all it's glory! And finally the IKON Gallery had a performance piece that had the students stunned into silence! A big thank you to Miss Smith for helping to organise the trip and to all the staff involved. If you want to see some more pictures please visit our Extracurricular>Trip section above! High definition images are available from the Photography Department. |
Anand in year 10 was proud to receive feedback on his bird project. His Abby Diamond Study of an Owl was commented on in Instagram by none other than Abby Diamond herself. Anand was proud that she was impressed with his work saying "Looks great, nice work!"
Well done Anand! Official endorsement of your work is very rare! |
